STARCARES Equips Seven Foster Homes for Children and Young People in Tanzania
The initiative with Kijana Kwanza furnishes seven family-style homes for up to 250 beneficiaries in Tanzania.
STARCARES, the CSR initiative of STARTRADER, has partnered with Kijana Kwanza in Tanzania to equip seven new foster homes for up to 250 beneficiaries. By turning newly built housing into safe, functional homes, the initiative supports the stability children need to continue their education and move towards greater independence.
STARCARES has provided beds, mattresses, bedding, wardrobes, cooking stoves, dining tables and chairs, enabling the homes to function from day one. The support forms part of its Where Tomorrow STARs Begin programme, focused on education, youth development and long-term opportunity.
Kijana Kwanza, meaning “Young People First,” is a Moshi-based NGO providing holistic care for 250 beneficiaries aged 5–22 through education, vocational training, life skills, shelter and community programmes, with its wider programme of services reaching over 23,000 people

For many of the children supported by Kijana Kwanza, a secure home is the foundation for staying in education, building practical skills, growing in confidence and progressing towards independence.
