Valverde slammed Madrid's fifth home from range, his eighth goal of the season, inching closer to the 10-goal target Ancelotti set him.

However Celtic and Jota claimed goal of the night with the Portuguese winger's free-kick screaming past Courtois and into the top corner at the death.
