Postecoglou links up with Ronaldo at Al Nassr
Former Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou has joined Al Nassr on a two-year deal, linking up with star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi League champions announced on Friday.
Postecoglou, 60, has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in October after just 39 days and eight games in charge.
Al Nassr trumpeted the news on social media: "It's official: Mr. Ange Postecoglou is the new head coach of @AlNassrFC. He signed a contract for two seasons. Welcome, Gaffer!"
The club followed up with a statement describing the appointment as "a new chapter".
"Our best wishes for success to him and his staff in their journey with the global club, God willing," the club added.
The Greece-born Australian began his coaching career in Melbourne rising to take charge of the Socceroos in 2013, and taking them to the 2014 World Cup.
He left in 2017 and, after a stint in Japan, spent two years at Celtic before moving into the Premier League with Tottenham in 2023.
Postecoglou led Spurs to a Europa League triumph in 2025, their first silverware for 17 years but a poor league campaign saw him dismissed.
His brief Forest chapter was little short of a disaster.
At Al Nassr, he will join up with experienced Portugal forward Ronaldo, 41, who joined the Saudi side in 2023.
