أكد القائم بالأعمال في سفارة العراق لدى ليبيا أحمد الصحاف، اليوم السبت، التحري عن مصير 18 مهاجراً عراقيا ً يشتبه بغرقهم دخلوا ليبيا بشكل غير قانوني.
أكد القائم بالأعمال في سفارة العراق لدى ليبيا أحمد الصحاف، اليوم السبت، التحري عن مصير 18 مهاجراً عراقيا ً يشتبه بغرقهم دخلوا ليبيا بشكل غير قانوني. ونقلت وكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع) عن الصحاف قوله:"نتابع باهتمام بالغ وعاجل مصير 18 مهاجراً عراقياً دخلوا ليبيا بشكل غير قانوني في وقت سابق"، موضحاً أنهم ينسقون مع السلطات الأمنية والجهات الصحية والهلال الأحمر الليبي لتقصي مصيرهم والتأكد من معلومات أفادت بغرقهم في البحر الأبيض المتوسط جراء الهجرة غير النظامية عبر ليبيا ومنها إلى أوروبا.
وأضاف:"لم تتأكد لدينا أنباء غرقهم بشكل رسمي عبر السلطات المتخصصة في ليبيا"، مبيناً أن السفارة تعمل منذ شهر تقريباً على تدقيق المعلومات بهذا الشأن والارتكان إلى الدقة والموثوقية بشأنها عبر استقائها من المصادر الرسمية.
وتُعدّ ليبيا نقطة انطلاق رئيسية للهجرة غير النظامية نحو أوروبا، ولا سيما باتجاه إيطاليا، منذ إطاحة الزعيم الليبي معمر القذافي عام 2011. وتشهد البلاد تدفقات متواصلة للمهاجرين عبر البحر الأبيض المتوسط والصحراء، بينما يتعرض كثير منهم للاعتراض خلال هذه الرحلات، بعد فرارهم من النزاعات والفقر في بلدانهم.
وكان أكثر من نصف مليون مهاجر ولاجئ ينتظرون في ليبيا، في مايو/أيار 2026، أملاً في الحصول على فرصة للعبور إلى أوروبا، وفق وزير الهجرة اليوناني ثانوس بليفريس. وتزامن ذلك مع تراجع عمليات العبور غير النظامي إلى دول الاتحاد الأوروبي بنسبة 39% خلال الأشهر الثلاثة الأولى من العام، مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من 2025، وفق بيانات الوكالة الأوروبية لحرس الحدود والسواحل (فرونتكس).
